Just some screenies I took while exploring the new map. Daytime giant spawn, tree sheep, and some rather broken water generation.
Underground Adventure
A collection of screenies showing some of the new 1.8 terrain generation elements. Most are o a pair of intersecting underground ravines, but we also abandoned mineshafts intersecting with one of the ravines aswell.
Castle Mascot Update: We’ve Moved Worlds!
With 1.8 out, the members of our server decided to generate a new map and either start again or import our creations to the new world. I decided to import. This is Castle Mascot in its lovely new forest setting. It of course looks a little out of place at the moment, but I’ve already begun the process of blending it into it’s new surrounds.
Castle Mascot Update: Outer Wall Continuation
Finished the next section of the outer wall today, also discovered that I hadn’t done the internal stairs correctly in 2 of the 4 towers, so they have been redone. I came across an undergound lake while excavating for this section of the wall. Rather than filling it in, I decided to make a lock gate, gave the wall a bit more character.
I was working on the castle today and a pink sheep spawned. I thought they could only spawn in white, black, greys, and browns. Win.
Castle Mascot Update: Excavation and exterior wall started
A few shots just to show the excavation i’ve been doing and the start of the exterior wall. The entire area in the 3rd shot was originally at, or close to, the height that the shot is taken from. The exterior wall will eventually go right the way around the castle, with outbuildings inside the wall and the surounding environment landscaped to look as though it generated that way.
